As a pharmacist serving rural communities, I’ve seen firsthand how much patients rely on having consistent, local care. After graduating with significant student debt, PSLF helped make it financially realistic to continue working in lower-paid, high-need settings, where I could build relationships with patients and make meaningful clinical interventions that directly impact their lives. Without that support, staying in public service wouldn’t have been sustainable, and communities like mine, already facing provider shortages, would have even fewer healthcare professionals to depend on.
